Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
The short version: Spoolog does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers. All data you enter in the app stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We have no access to it.
Who we are
Spoolog is an iOS application developed and maintained as an independent project. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, you can contact us at spoolog@dr3as.net.
What data the app collects
Spoolog does not collect any personal data. The app does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information.
The only data stored by the app is the filament spool information you choose to enter yourself, such as:
- Spool name, brand, and material type
- Colour and weight information
- Remaining filament estimates you log manually
This data is created entirely by you and belongs entirely to you.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in one or both of the following locations, depending on your device settings:
- On your device — data is stored locally in the app's private storage on your iPhone.
- In your iCloud account — if you have iCloud enabled on your device, your data may be synced to your personal iCloud account so it is available across your Apple devices. This sync is handled entirely by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
No data is ever sent to any server operated by Spoolog or any third party.
Third-party services
Spoolog does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services. The app contains no third-party SDKs that collect data.
The only external service involved is Apple's iCloud, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with any third parties — because we do not have access to any user data in the first place.
Data deletion
Since all data is stored on your device or in your iCloud account, you are in full control of it. You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual spools within the app
- Deleting the app from your device, which removes all locally stored data
- Managing or deleting iCloud data through your iPhone's iCloud settings
Children's privacy
Spoolog does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. As the app collects no personal data, it is safe for use by all ages.
Changes to this policy
If we make any material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
